Port Arthur Historic Site opens on Christmas Day

Are you looking for a wonderful spot to enjoy a picnic on Christmas Day? Tasmania’s leading cultural heritage tourist attraction, the Port Arthur Historic Site, will be open from 9.00am until 3.30pm on December 25.
The Visitor Centre and grounds and gardens will be open for visitors to enjoy a picnic on the lawns or to walk around the site.
Guided tours will be available and the Gift Shop and Port Café in the Visitor Centre will be open for business.
Museum houses will be closed and there will be no harbour cruise or tours to Point Puer or Isle of the Dead. Felons Bistro is closed, and there will be no Ghost Tour on Christmas night.
Reduced entry fees apply for the day: Adults/Concession—$17.00pp, Children—Free of Charge
The famous summer activities program at the Port Arthur Historic Site commences shortly after Christmas, offering performances, archaeology digs and family fun throughout January. See www.portarthur.org.au/summer for full details.
