Heavenly voices lift spirits at Historic Site
The Port Arthur Historic Site was delighted to welcome the Australian Girls Choir for a lunchtime performance at the Asylum hall last Tuesday.
Established in 1984, the Australian Girls Choir is the most dynamic children’s choir in the country. Today, the Choir is proud to be training more than 3,500 choristers across four states of Australia.
Best recognised for its involvement in the Qantas 'I Still Call Australia Home' advertising campaign, the choir has sung at almost every major concert venue in the country.
The girls have performed with a long list of outstanding artists and personalities from the entertainment world, and have been acclaimed in some hundreds of performances undertaken in numerous international and national tours.
This unique performance of Inspirational, Australiana, Show tunes, Contemporary, African spirituals and Folk songs included movement, dance and entertaining stage presentation. There were smiles and more than a few tears as the girls were applauded for a truly inspiring display.
