AFL Premiers visit Historic Site
Port Arthur Historic Site welcomed recent AFL Premiership team, the Hawks, today. The team is in Tasmania hosting a series of community-based events ahead of the upcoming AFL season.
The Hawthorn Community Camp is designed to benefit as many different regional communities as possible, to build on the excitement of winning the 2008 Premiership, and to prepare for the season ahead.
Visiting team members of the Hawthorn team included captain Sam Mitchell as well as Jordan Lewis and Xavier Ellis. They brought with them the Premiership Cup.
After kicking a ball and playing a game of cricket with some young local supporters, they signed autographs for Peninsula fans and joined in a free barbecue held to celebrate the visit.
