New way to explore the Coal Mines Historic Site
This winter there is a new way to explore the fascinating Coal Mines Historic Site on the Tasman Peninsula.
Navigators, in association with the Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority, has devised a cruise and guided tour experience that culminates with exploring the Coal Mines with experienced and knowledgeable Port Arthur guides.
Enjoy history and magnificent scenery, probation stations and convict worksites. The cruise departs from Hobart’s Brooke Street Pier for Norfolk Bay at 8.30am on Sunday 14 and 28 June. Passengers will disembark at Taranna for a coach transfer to lunch at the stunning Cascades at Koonya, before the guided tour of the Coal Mines Historic Site.
Morning tea, lunch (with a glass of Tasmanian wine) and afternoon tea are included.
Only two dates are currently being offered, but if the tour proves successful, it may be offered more regularly: Depart Brooke Street Pier in Hobart, 8.30am 28 June and 12 July 2009
