Driving
The 90-minute drive from Hobart to Port Arthur follows the Tasman and Arthur Highways and forms part of the Convict Trail Touring Route—a journey through rolling farmland and coastal forests, seaside villages, artists’ studios and vineyards and breathtaking coastal scenery.
Allow at least 90 minutes to drive from Hobart to Port Arthur, or longer if you plan to stop along the way. If you are driving after dark, you are likely to encounter native animals on the road, so take a little extra time to arrive, slow down and drive safely.
